A cop from Jacksonville, Florida is in mourning today after hearing the news that her son was shot and killed by a homeowner who he tried to burglarize.
Xavier Houston, 24, and another man broke into a home on Park Street, triggering the alarm system. When the homeowner was alerted by home security company he rushed home to confront the burglars, reported News 4 Jax.
When he arrived he caught the two men in the midst of the burglary and shot Houston who stumbled to his silver four-door car in the home’s carport where he died.
The other burglar was able to escape and is still at large.
Houston is the son of JSO Officer Lynette Bryant and had a long criminal record including burglary, aggravated battery, stalking, cyber-stalking and four arrests for domestic battery.
